Finding Actions That Should Not Happen
One of the top uses is detecting anomalies. The software can look for specific events across camera feeds and flag them for review.
Current casino vision systems are being developed to identify incidents, including:
- Bet capping, where chips are added after betting should’ve finished.
- Pinching, where chips are removed from a wager at an improper time.
- Past posting, where a bet is placed after information about the outcome is available.
- Incorrect payouts by a dealer.
- Failure to collect a losing wager.
- Procedural actions inconsistent with the rules of the game.
EagleSight says its Vision AI analyses existing table-game camera feeds and detects cheating methods, such as past posting, capping and pinching. It also identifies dealer errors, like paying a losing hand or failing to pay a winner. Why This Matters for Live Dealer Games
The same problems faced in physical casinos also appear on live casino platforms. Important events are happening, but they need to be recorded and represented accurately. Computer vision offers another way to verify exactly what happened at a table, rather than relying on a single data source.
Not every live dealer provider currently uses advanced vision AI to monitor every game. Evidence suggests a greater need to use this tech on physical casino floors. These environments are far more likely to see cheating and mistakes.
However, live studios are suitable environments for visual auditing. Camera positions, lighting, and table layouts can be controlled, and the video infrastructure needed for streaming is already central to the format.
Regulation Already Requires Visual Oversight
Computer vision is not a must for a live game to be fair. The UK Gambling Commission’s Remote Gambling and Software Technical Standards already state that live dealer operations must be fair and independently auditable. Its guidance requires video surveillance covering dealer activity in sufficient detail to establish whether procedures and game rules were followed. It also says that game logs and statistics must be available in ways that can be analyzed for trends involving game performance, staff, and locations.
The Commission says that physical equipment, such as cards and roulette wheels, determines live dealer outcomes. Fair shuffling, roulette-wheel integrity and dealing procedures are all part of maintaining fairness.
Computer vision can complement these controls. It can make recorded video searchable and measurable, rather than leaving every review to someone manually watching footage.
Creating a Better Audit Trail
A useful vision system does not just issue an alert. It can also preserve the evidence behind an alert for investigation.
As an example, suppose software detects that the size of a chip stack changed after betting closed. The system can then retain the relevant video frames, timestamp the event, and associate it with the table and game record. A surveillance operator can then review the footage and decide whether the model identified genuine misconduct, an innocent movement, or a recognition error.
This matters because computer vision, like many technologies, is not perfect. Hands can obscure cards, chips can overlap, and reflections or lighting changes can affect recognition. Human review is essential when an automated system flags something unusual, so risks can be managed appropriately.

At the 2026 World Game Protection Conference, developers demonstrated AI surveillance technology designed to automatically detect cheating and dealer errors. Products such as EagleSight and Gamevue show that card recognition, chip tracking, and real-time anomaly detection have moved beyond theoretical research and are now real commercial casino applications.
For live dealer gaming, this matters because fairness depends on connecting physical events with reliable digital records.
